Kenworth Commercial Trucks-

Founded in 1923 Kenworth got it's start over 10 years before that. Two brothers, George and Louis Gerlinger, ran a truck dealership in Portland, Oregon. In 1914 the brothers decided to design their own truck, the first truck they manufactured was the Gersix which was ideal for the logging industry in their area. The Gersix was the first commercial truck to have a six cylinder engine.

How 'Kenworth' came into existence was when the Gerlinger brother's needed more space they found a larger building in Tacoma, Washington. Managing the rental property was Edgar Worthington. When the Gerlinger's sold their business Worthington and his partner Fred Kent purchased the truck company and Kenworth commercial trucks started rolling off the line. The name, Kenworth, was is a combination of the names 'Kent' and 'Worthington'.

From the beginning of Kenworth the engineers who design Kenworth commercial trucks take pride in keeping the customer's involved in the new designs. Their goal is to design and manufacture commercial truck that the consumer wants not designing a truck then selling it to the consumer. This attitude has made Kenworth commercial trucks one of the most popular and widely used commercial trucks across the US and Canada.

Kenworth manufactures a long line of middle and heavy duty commercial trucks. You will find Kenworth commercial trucks hauling, towing, and dumping among many other tasks. Models such as the T370, T170, and K360 Kenworth commercial trucks take care of medium duty commercial needs. The T660 and T2000 are newer additions to the Kenworth commercial trucks line for heavy duty work.
