Mack Commercial Trucks-
MACK is known for trucks and nothing but trucks. The company’s beginnings go back to 1890 when one of the original owners of Mack took a job at a wagon and carriage making company. Eventually John Mack and two of his brothers purchased the wagon company and the brothers first products were steam powered cars. By the time the fourth and fifth brothers became involved in the company they were producing buses and locomotives.
John Mack’s dream didn’t end there though – he had for many years had thoughts of heavy duty trucks and it wasn’t long before they were one of the leading producers, MACK Trucks were involved in just about every line of commercial truck needs. In 1910 Mack sold the first motorized fire truck. Through the years Mack commercial trucks been designed with a long list of firsts for commercial heavy duty trucks.
Although the early beginnings of Mack Trucks was steeped in ‘family’ with 5 brothers being involved in running the company eventually other companies such as Renult and most recently Volvo have taken over the business. Mack commercial trucks still produces new MACK commercial trucks under the name MACK but is now part of the Swedish company Volvo AB. You will find available many used Mack commercial trucks in use that were manufactured before the changes in ownership and management.
Mack commercial trucks continue to this day to carry the well known Mack logo the bulldog and the commercial trucks continue to work like a bulldog performing a multitude of heavy duty commercial truck chores. New Mack commercial trucks include the construction, highway, and refuge series. Used Mack commercial trucks include CH-612 dump truck, CH-613 flatbed truck, and the R-Model tandem dump truck. |
