Peterbilt Commercial Trucks-
T.A. Peterman was the originator of the Peterbilt commercial truck. Peterman was in the logging business and due to having a problem getting his cut logs delivered to mills he went to work producing heavy duty trucks to use in his own business. It wasn’t for several years, after WWII, that the Peterbilt commercial truck became a common name among long haul truckers.
Peterbilt commercial trucks have got to be one of the most recognized or at least famous commercial trucks in the world. Peterbilt semi trucks have been featured or made appearances in such movies as a Batman film, 3 Smokey and the Bandit movies, Convoy, and Breakdown. A Peterbilt commercial truck is a regular in the History Channel series ‘Ice Road Truckers’ and an animated version of a Peterbilt semi truck entertains young and old in the movie ‘Cars’.
A Peterbilt commercial truck even took part in the very popular use of CB radios after the CW McCall song, Convoy was released. One of the trucks mention in the song was a "cab-over Pete with a reefer on" or in layman’s terms ‘a Peterbilt with the cab over the engine, hauling a refrigerated trailer.
You can find heavy duty Peterbilt commercial trucks most everywhere. These trucks were from the first built to work hard and last long.
