Volvo Commercial Trucks-
Volvo commercial trucks were first manufactured in Sweden during the late 1920s. Volvo's first car came off the line in 1927 and a year later the first Volvo commercial truck was manufactured. In 1959 first Volvo trucks came to the US. It wasn't until 1970 that the trucks became an American fixture in the trucking industry with the creation of Volvo of America Corp.
Volvo got its big name and power by a series of mergers and acquisitions which included acquiring General Motors heavy duty trucks, the acquiring Renault which included another well known heavy duty commercial truck manufacturer, Mack. During the 1980s the Volvo commercial trucks line also encompassed the Western Star commercial trucks sold mainly in Canada.
Today Volvo commercial trucks can be found both new and used in a number of different models including long haul semi trucks and dump trucks. The Day Cab is one of the most commonly seen used Volvo commercial trucks. The White brand Volvo commercial used truck is one of the oldest manufactured in the US still on the road.
Volvo commercial trucks dealers can locate the truck for your need or you can find some at commercial truck auctions. In North America the class 8 trucks under the names Volvo and Mack are still manufactured in the US. |
